YOUTH NEWS JULY 2012

YOUTH FORUM REPORT  On Sunday the 3rd of June the first new Youth Mass and Youth Forum was held at St Patricks’ Church. The Mass saw many young people engaged in the celebration of the Eucharist through music, proclaiming the word and other ministries. We look forward to including the young people of our parish who currently participate as well as those who are not yet active participants in our community. The hope is to build a vibrant, d i v e r s e  a n d e n e r g e t i c congregation that reaches out and invites young people (and young at heart) to join in this regular celebration on the first Sunday of each month lead by young people.

After mass approximately 35 parishioners including older children, youth, young adults, parents and other interested adults gathered to share their ideas and vision for youth ministry in our parish. There were many common themes with the desire to start gathered activities and activities around music being two of the prime ideas. Over the next couple of months we will be inviting people to be involved in further developing activities that target the young people of our parish.  Three events will be happening this month and next including:

Regular 1st Sunday Youth Led Mass at St Patricks 6pm (1st July)

Youth Gathering after Mass on the 1st of July.

7:30pm till 9:00pm. High School Aged young people led by our Young Adults. Bring $5 for dinner.

Thursday 12th July Music Workshop. Led by Adrian and Andrew an opportunity to learn the music that we will be using at the Youth Led Masses and begin to develop the band.
